Ruggeri, an Italian sculptor, worked at Tito Bianchi’s factory in Tuscany where he developed his own mix of alabaster and resin, to create a durable and weatherproof material. Ruggeri was born in Volterra near Pisa and was known to be active from the 1930’s. A reminder, as if we needed it, that booksellers and book dealers all end up the same way, or perhaps a reminder to book sellers that books are extremely heavy things and will do for you in the end.
