A watercolour painting of a tall thin gentleman in a naive style. He stands with his right hand inside his coat, the other in his pocket. In the distance is a large house. Condition is very good, with light foxing and some toning. We think that the picture dates from the later part of the eighteenth century. The painting is in an oval mount which is a little dusty and toned. Approx 25 cm x  20 cm for the image, and 34 cm x 28 cm for the mount. A pencil inscription on the back of the work reads "Bailey Ward?".
