LEIGH, Henry & son. “Orchard Planted at Freshwater at Bakers by Henry Leigh and his son Bar Leigh Feby 9th 1822”, & “Orchard Planted at Freshwater at Wavells by Henry Leigh and his son Bar Leigh Feb 9th 1822”. Oblong manuscript in ink, pp14, of which three used. Each of the three pages are ruled into sections , with the tree planting shown, each tree named by variety. The names of the fruit trees planted are wonderful:  Gamsels Bergamot, Wyker Pippin, Ribstone Pippin, Nonpareil Russet, American Pippin, French Pearmain and Lemon Pippin just a small selection. The oblong manuscript is sewn into a brown paper wrap, and is approx 20 cm x 15 cm. An interesting research opportunity to discover more about Henry Leigh and his son, and the owners of the properties where the orchards were printed. A rare manuscript.
